Another success for our Medical Faculty! Prof. Joanna Bladowska, a neuroradiologist from Wrocław University of Science and Technology, was invited as the only representative of radiology to two prestigious national neurology conferences. This is a clear signal that the competencies of specialists from the Medical Faculty of Wrocław University of Science and Technology are gaining recognition in the broader medical community.

Kraków: 500 Neurologists and One Radiologist

In early December, Prof. Bladowska spoke at the 11th National Conference "Pitfalls in Neurology" in Kraków. The event gathered approximately 500 neurologists from across the country, and our professor, as the only invited radiologist, delivered a lecture in the session dedicated to rare diseases.

The title of her presentation: "Why It's Worth Opening the Disc?". Prof. Bladowska convinced the gathered specialists that medical imaging is more than just a described examination result – it is a crucial source of information that every neurologist should personally analyze. The lecture was met with great interest from the participants.

Bydgoszcz: Lecture and Session Moderation

Just a week earlier, on November 21st, Prof. Bladowska accepted an invitation from the Bydgoszcz Medical Chamber to participate in the conference "Arrested Movement – Contemporary Approach to Parkinsonism". There, she also appeared in a dual role – as a speaker and moderator of the conference's first session, which she led together with Prof. Milena Świtońska.

Her presentation focused on modern imaging diagnostic methods in atypical parkinsonism – a topic requiring both deep radiological knowledge and an understanding of the neurological context.

Interdisciplinarity in Focus

Contemporary medicine is interdisciplinary, and the role of imaging, and thus the role of the radiologist in neurological diagnostics, is difficult to overlook – emphasizes Prof. Bladowska.

It is precisely through this approach – combining specialized radiological knowledge with a broad clinical perspective – that Prof. Bladowska has gained recognition among the neurological community. The fact that it is a radiologist from Wrocław University of Science and Technology, and not from other medical universities, who is invited to such prestigious conferences in Poland, testifies to the growing position of our young Medical Faculty.
