Information for students about to start their degree programme

Dear Students!

We are delighted that you have been accepted into the Faculty of Medicine at Wrocław University of Science and Technology. We are the first technical university in Poland to open a medical faculty. Together with you, we are pioneering a new trend.
Since we would like to make it easier for you to get around Wrocław University of Science and Technology and our Faculty, here is some basic information:
1. The Dean's Office of the Faculty of Medicine (W14N) is located on the first floor of building C-7 in room 1002 at  plac Grunwaldzki 11, 50-377 Wrocław, phone: 71/ 340 77 10
2. The Faculty of Medicine's Introduction Day will take place on ........... starting at 10:00 a.m. Venue: building C-19 (next to the link with Building C-20) in room ....................... Attendance is compulsory.
During the Introduction Day, there will also be health and safety training, compulsory for all students.
Failure to complete the health and safety training will prevent you from attending classes at our partner hospitals, which start from the first day of the course.

REMINDER

In accordance with the admission rules contained in Resolution No. 484/35/2020-2024 of the Wrocław Tech Senate, please provide the following before the start of the academic year (preferably by September 25, 2024):
• a doctor's certificate of no impediment to study, as a prerequisite for admission to courses delivered at the Faculty of Medicine
• a certificate of sanitary-epidemiological examination and compulsory hepatitis B vaccination as a prerequisite for admission to courses delivered at the Faculty of Medicine
Those who have not yet collected the relevant referral can collect it from the Admissions Department, room 1.14, building C-13 at ul. Wybrzeże Wyspiańskiego 27.
Those who do not have up-to-date hepatitis B vaccinations are asked to contact the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Medicine urgently.

Organisational information

1. The Faculty of Medicine is located in buildings C-7 and C-20. The public entrance is via building C-19 (Faculty of Mathematics).

6. The Dean's Office is located in building C-7, room 1008. Student drop-in hours in the winter term: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays – 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.; Fridays – 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. The Dean's Office is closed on Wednesdays.
7. Our website is now online. We are working to publish all the information you may need, so please check it regularly.
8. You will be administratively enrolled in your classes. Timetables for all groups are available on the Faculty’s website
9. Self-enrolment for 1 semester only applies to sports classes.
10. A supplementary English course is for those who wish to take it – it is not a compulsory course in this semester. Also, self-enrolment applies. There is no credit to be obtained for this subject.
11. Sanitary-epidemiological examinations for students of the Faculty of Medicine, provided from 14.09.2023 at the Provincial Sanitary-Epidemiological Station in Wrocław, are free of charge. In order to undergo a test free of charge, you must collect a relevant test order, issued by Wrocław University of Science and Technology, at the Dean's Office. There is no reimbursement for students who have undergone the test beforehand.
By ............. or at the beginning of the semester, you must furnish the following documents to the Dean's Office (building. C-7, room 1008, 10-th floor): a medical certificate of no contraindication to study in a medical degree programme; a sanitary-epidemiological certificate/decision; a certificate of vaccination for hepatitis B. The certificate of no contraindication is issued by an occupational physician. The sanitary certificate is issued by a primary care physician or occupational physician. The vaccination certificate is issued by a primary care facility.
12. Classes taking place off-campus at Wrocław University of Science and Technology will be held at:
4th Military Clinical Hospital, ul. Weigla 5, Building 3a, room 9 – EPIOM
Lower Silesian Centre for Heart Diseases Medinet, ul. Kamieńskiego 73a, seminar room 203, (lower building).
13. The literature required in classes is available in the Library of Wrocław University of Science and Technology in the amount of 5 volumes. For the rest of you, there will be access to electronic versions of the resources. The necessary literature was ordered for the library based on the lists provided in the syllabuses (subject sheets).
14. Syllabuses – subject sheets and the curriculum – please highlight the Programmes of Studies tab and select the Faculty of Medicine.
15. Uniforms (scrubs) will be required for classes at the Medical Simulation Centre. It is best if you agree on one particular colour and type of uniform. Changeable footwear is also required, but it is not specified which kind (trainers, gym shoes, crocs, etc.). Medical clothing shops:
