December 5, 2025 – something special happened in the lecture hall of Wrocław University of Science and Technology.
Over a hundred seniors filled Aula A1, but this wasn't just another conference. Autumn Senioralia 2025 became what every healthcare event should aspire to be: a place where knowledge meets warmth, where science translates into daily life, and where people don't just listen – they connect.
Not Only Lectures. A Conversation About Life After 60.
The event served a dual purpose from the start. Yes, there was knowledge – three exceptional lectures from leading experts. But there was also something equally important: a space for seniors to meet, share experiences, and realize they're not alone in their health journeys.
The morning unfolded through three perspectives on healthy aging:
Prof. Joanna Szczepańska-Gieracha opened with the topic of depression prevention, emphasizing that mental health in older age isn't just about medicine – it's about staying active, maintaining relationships, and prevention before crisis strikes.
Prof. Magdalena Krajewska connected the dots between kidneys, heart, and metabolism, explaining how our body systems communicate. Her message? Regular check-ups and early detection change everything.
Prof. Joanna Rymaszewska gave everyone something to take home that same day: the 5xR Recipe for daily mental resilience.
The 5xR Recipe: Small Actions, Big Impact
Five simple pillars that seniors can build into everyday life:
Not abstract theories. Concrete habits that build resilience one day at a time.
Beyond Theory: Real Support in Action
Dr. hab. Kinga Węgrzynowska-Teodorczyk, Prof. AWF summarized the public health program that preceded this event – real physiotherapy consultations, individualized training, assessments of strength, balance, and reaction time. Participants received before-and-after comparisons showing exactly what improved.
And throughout the morning, nursing students from the Non-Public Medical University provided priceless support – taking blood pressure measurements, answering health questions, and helping seniors complete surveys about their well-being, training progress, and overall experience with the program. Their professionalism and genuine kindness ensured everyone felt cared for and supported.
Questions, Stories, and Shared Experiences
What made Senioralia truly special? The atmosphere. Seniors didn't just sit passively – they asked questions, shared their own observations, and swapped health experiences. The high substantive level met genuine human engagement.
As Prof. Beata Jankowska-Polańska (Head of the Education and Innovation Center at the 4th Military Clinical Hospital) closed the event, she thanked seniors for their presence, activity, and most importantly – their motivation to take action for their own health.
A Partnership That Works
Four organizations, one mission: making healthcare accessible, understandable, and human.
Senioralia 2025 was the result of collaboration between Wrocław Health Center, the City of Wrocław, the 4th Military Clinical Hospital, and the Faculty of Medicine at Wrocław University of Science and Technology.
